The Institute is equipped with a well-stocked library that has nearly 4000 books, on the whole range of subjects catering to diverse interests, principally mountaineering as also on travel, exploration, astronomy, geology, history, culture, flora and fauna. It has sets of the Himalayan Gazetteer, the Alpine Journal, the Himalayan Journal etc.
