During the period, the Institute hosted the First International Sport Climbing Competition in India on behalf of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) from 19th to 21st Nov 2004. This was the first time that India hosted an International Sports Climbing Competition. |

It was also the first International Sports Wall Climbing Competition, which was conducted on the soil of the State of Uttarakhand.
48 Men and women participated, which was conducted in a flawless professional manner by NIM on behalf of the IMF.
President IMF complimented NIM for the outstanding conduct. |
